The World Cup victory for Lionel Messi in “Qatar 2022” “is written”, says Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The enigmatic Swede spent a season working alongside the South American striker in the 2009/10 season at Barcelona and he knows how important he is at these stages of the competition. Messi has been shining for his country in the Middle East, scoring four goals in five games and Ibrahimovic believes it is time for the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner to win football’s most prestigious award.

I don’t think it’s written who’s going to win it, and you know who I mean. I think Messi will lift the trophy, it’s written that way”, said Ibrahimovic before the World Cup semi-final match.

While discussing Messi’s near future, Ibrahimovic also spoke about another great footballer – superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The former striker of Manchester United has said that seeing another striker breaks his fat contract with Manchester United.

“His departure from United, I think when things happen, we never know the exact story of this thing. They say what they want to say, he says what he needs to say to protect himself, then you have the coach saying those things to protect himself. Then the club says other things – not like me, I would really tell what happened. But we are all different. We are all careful about their image. For me, the perfect image is to be yourself. The truth of this story is not known, my friend,” Ibrahimovic said.
